COMPANY
CONCRETE DROPS THEATRE is a multi award winning theatre company based in Brooklyn, NY. Their work aims to engage audiences in ways that are fanciful, thought provoking and cerebrally titillating. The company consists of its founding members, Vanessa Quesnelle and Martin Dockery, who in 2011 decided to dedicate themselves to solely producing their own work. Since its inception, they have created and toured seven original two-person plays together to Australia, Edinburgh and across the North American fringe circuit: Oh, That Wily Snake!, The Pit, Inescapable, Love Is A Battlefield, Moonlight After Midnight, The Stakeout, and Long Night of the American Dream.
VANESSA QUESNELLE (Writer/Actor/Dramaturg/Director)
Vanessa Quesnelle, Co-Founder of Concrete Drops Theatre, is currently based in Brooklyn, NY, but hails from Ontario, Canada. In addition to their seven plays, Vanessa has also created two theatrical solo shows, The Abyss Burrow and Luna. Prior to this, some of her acting credits include Amy in Company (Fountainhead Productions), Nurse Wilson in 7 Stories, Pierrette in Les Belles Soeurs, Helena in Midsummer Night’s Dream (Passionfool Theatre), Suzanne in Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Theatre Woodstock), Margot Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank (Theatre Woodstock), Bottom in Midsummer Night’s Dream (CAST), Laura Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie (QP Productions).
MARTIN DOCKERY (Writer/Actor)
Martin Dockery, Co-Founder of Concrete Drops Theatre, is a frequent performer in New York’s storytelling scene. Over the past several years, he’s created nine monologues. His six autobiographical monologues Wanderlust, The Surprise, The Bike Trip, The Holy Land Experience, The Exclusion Zone, Delirium, You Belong Here and his two fictional monologues, Bursting Into Flames and The Dark Fantastic have enjoyed successful runs across North America and Australia. Dockery graduated from Kenyon College and has an MFA in playwriting from Columbia University.
